Hedwig had kittens! The fluffy one, closest to Hedwig, is Mr. Tibbles. The other one is Mrs. Norris.




"Good morning, Mr. Ivanov. Thanks again for coming over," Lia greeted her boss with a smile, feeling butterflies in her stomach.

"Anything for my favorite employee," Yuri Ivanov said in his thick accent, a smile on his face.

"I just wanted to thank you for the promotion. My brother and I are trying to furnish our house, and the extra money really helped," Lia laughed awkwardly, unsure what to say.

"You deserved it. You’re the best worker I have. Apart from me, of course," Yuri laughed and Lia joined in, his laughter infectious.


A few hours later, after Yuri had left to work, Lia sat down to dinner with Alek.

"Who was over here a few hours earlier?" Alek asked over a bowl of macaroni.

"Oh, that was my boss, Yuri Ivanov. I just wanted to thank him for the promotion," Lia shrugged and they ate the rest of their dinner in silence.






A few days later, Lia had invited over her boss to thank him for another promotion. They were talking about work, when a strange feeling came over Lia. Before she could stop herself, or even think about what she was doing, she had practically thrown herself at Yuri and was kissing him. He just stared at her for a few seconds, the longest five seconds of Lia’s life. He then started yelling at her, asking her what she thought she was doing.

"I think it’s time for me to go. I’ll see you tomorrow at work," Yuri said, walking over to his car and getting in, driving off. Lia watched the car drive off, hoping she wouldn’t get fired for kissing the boss.


As Lia crawled into her bed that night, she couldn’t help a small smile from creeping across her face. Whatever may happen the next day at work, she had finally kissed Yuri.




When Yuri came over again a few days later, Lia tried to fight the feeling to kiss him. After hours of talking about the weather and work, and anything else Lia could think of, she gave up and kissed him again. She was surprised when he kissed her back, but she wasn’t ashamed to admit she was glad.




"Where are we going?" Lia asked with a breathless laugh as Yuri grabbed her hand and helped her into his car.

"We’re going to the theatre. I don’t know about you, but it’s been years since I’ve toured it. I’ve worked there for so long now that I don’t spend my free time there."

"I’ve actually never toured it. My brother and I are new to Riverview."

"Well, even better," Yuri said with a smile, driving quickly to the theatre.


"Where were you yesterday?" Alek asked the next day over breakfast.

"I was doing some extra work with Yuri," Lia hoped she wasn’t blushing.

"So, like overtime work?"

"Something like that."

"Well, hopefully it will help you get a promotion soon," Alek said with a slight smile.


"What was in those waffles, Alek? Something in them isn’t sitting well with me!" Lia called through the bathroom door, resting her head on the cool toilet seat.

"Just the normal stuff. Maybe you’ll feel better with some rest. Go back to bed," Alek called through the door, sounding worried for his sister but also nervous that he might catch whatever she had.

"That’s a good idea. I guess it’s a good thing I don’t work today," Lia stood up and rolled her shoulders, brushing her teeth before crawling back into bed.


"Oh!" Lia exclaimed, feeling something inside of her pop.

"What’s wrong?" Alek called through the window from out in the garden.

"Well, I think I figured out why I was sick yesterday. I’m pregnant."

"Great. We barely have enough money for the two of us. How are we going to support another mouth?" Alek grumbled.


"Hi, Mel. What did you need?" Yuri asked, greeting Lia with a hug.

"I have something to tell you. I’m pregnant. And…you’re the father," Lia said slowly, hoping Yuri wouldn’t freak out.

"I…you’re…what?" Yuri stuttered, staring at Lia as if she had suddenly sprouted three heads.


"Okay. Well, this is a little unexpected, but that’s awesome!" Yuri said a few minutes later.

"Really?" Lia asked, breathing a sigh of relief.

"Really. I’ve always wanted a large family. I already have two kids, so what’s another one?"

"Right," Lia smiled slightly.






Oh, yeah. Did I mention that Amelia’s a witch? No? Well, she is. :)




"Crap. Lia, breakfast is on fire!" Alek yelled, hoping that Lia would hear him and come running to help him.


But Lia was outside having a crisis of her own.








A few hours later, the Lightstone twins exited the hospital with another set of twins, Benedict Davis and Cecilia Emily.

The next few years flew by, with Lia working and Alek helping to teach the twins everything they would need to know to grow up well.


Before long, the twins had grown up and were old enough to attend school.
